Assistance for Persons with Disabilities

Family First Healthcare Services participates in the “Home Care for Disabled Adults” program through The Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF).

DCF offers a wide range of services and programs designed to support adults with disabilities, aged 18 through 59, in maintaining their independence and quality of life while remaining in their homes and communities. These services aim to provide an alternative to institutional or nursing home care, focusing on enhancing the individual’s well-being and preventing premature institutionalization.

Our Mission has always been to improve the quality of life for those that we serve and we strive to deliver upon this with EVERY patient/client experience.

Home Care for Disabled Adults

The Home Care for Disabled Adults program provides case management and a financial subsidy for approved caregivers of adult persons with disabilities. To be eligible for this program, individuals must be aged 18 through 59 and have permanent physical or mental limitations.

The financial subsidy provided through this program is intended to help offset costs related to housing, food, clothing, medical services not covered by insurance, and essential equipment or supplies. This support enables caregivers to better meet the needs of the adults with disabilities under their care, ensuring a higher quality of life and greater independence.

We are dedicated to remaining much more than just a Home Care agency. We navigate and set the pace for that which comes next for seniors and adults with disabilities who stand in need of care.

Community Care for Disabled Adults (CCDA)

The Community Care for Disabled Adults (CCDA) program is another essential service offered by the DCF. This program targets adults aged 18 through 59 who have a permanent physical or mental disability. The CCDA program provides a range of services, including adult day care, case management, chore service, transportation, homemaker service, and personal care.

The primary objective of the CCDA program is to assist adults with disabilities in living dignified and reasonably independent lives in their own homes. By providing these support services, the program aims to enhance the individual’s quality of life, ensure they remain in the least restrictive environment possible, and prevent premature institutionalization.

Through programs like Adult Protective Services, Home Care for Disabled Adults, and Community Care for Disabled Adults, the DCF aims to enhance the independence, quality of life, and well-being of individuals with disabilities while enabling them to remain in their homes and communities.

By offering a range of support services and resources, the DCF ensures that adults with disabilities in Florida have access to the care and assistance they need to lead dignified and fulfilling lives.
